    Travels with Telemann

    NB This concert is a double bill with JS Bach’s Goldberg Variations at 9pm and is part of the Woodhouse Recorder Week at Owlpen Manor.

    The Nightingale's Response

    Fontanella will present a family-friendly preview of their CD release concert, The Nightingale’s Response, ahead of their appearance at the Greenwich International Early Music Festival later in the week. 

    With music from the medieval and renaissance period up to the present day, including music by Machaut, Byrd, Purcell and Joseph Kosma, Fontanella’s programme will be performed on an array of instruments including their magnificent 15-piece renaissance recorder consort.

    The Nightingale's Response

    Releasing their latest CD, The Nightingale’s Response, Fontanella will perform music on the theme of nature and birdsong, including original and music by Machaut, Monteverdi, Byrd, Campion and Saint-Saens, plus Tim Coker’s fantastic ‘Wild Wood’ for Paetzold recorders.

    ‘Vivaldi Undercover’

    Passacaglia with guest artist Tobie Miller, hurdy-gurdy

    In this invigorating and colourful programme, Passacaglia explores Vivaldi’s music as it masquerades in various different guises, including music from Chedeville’s version of The Four Seasons with virtuoso hurdy gurdy, along with JS Bach’s wonderful keyboard transcriptions, and Passacaglia’s own take on Vivaldi’s virtuosic ‘La Follia’ Sonata.
